As Frankfurt is only around 15 km from my place of residence, I like going there for some shots. One day, I came across the yellow lit Commerzbank tower in downtown Frankfurt. Shot is HDRi processed and partially desaturated afterwards. How would you have processed this image? Map? Have a look at the original out-of-camera picture here. You did a great job, Mirko. The desaturation really works and adds an elegance to the image. Your composition is excellent too. I really couldn't suggest any improvements in processing. It seems so easy with HDR to make the image gaudy and cartoon-like and I think your light use of HDR very good!

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you very much for your encouragement, Michael. I was really impressed by the result of the HDR processing myself with this pic ;-)
Mirko - this is great - really well produced and interesting. I would love to see the original and feel I'd have to see it to say what I might have done. What I can say that I really like what you've done - good job.

@Stephen Phillips: Thanks, Stephen. As already mentioned I will probably post the original version someday soon... Update: Original can be found here
I completly agree with Stephen, such a great image and I'm curious how you processed it.

@Thomas Griffioen: Thanks for commenting. If I find the time to change my (already uploaded) images I will probably post the original version soon... Update: Original picture can be found here
An excellent posting Mirko -- I am loving the desaturated qualities (and hope to start utilizing them myself once i get my new computer!) the composition is robust and i am enjoying the fact that you kept the electrical / phone wires... a wonderful added dimension there! marvelous choice of color highlights!

@dj.tigersprout: As always I thank you for your kind and insightful comment. I am happy that you like my sometimes a bit special image treatments.
I love it with the yellow glow... I would not change anything

@MJ: Thanks for you encouragement, MJ!
Trés chouet ! Belle composition (angle sur les bâtiments, cables, etc...), et joli travail de post-traitement, ça fait science-fiction !
Very nice ! Interesting composition (angle on buildings, cables, etc. ...), and beautiful work of post-treatment, it looks like science fiction !

@Isao: Thank you very much, Isao.
Like an urban finger giving "voice", pointing skyward! *wink*

@Alexandra: Nice interpretation, Alexandra :-)
Fantastic lighting and composition... the partial desaturation has so successfully stressed the pattern of the buildings and deepened the sense of the night mood!!

@hugo poon: Thanks for your nice comment, Hugo! I am happy you like the desaturation here as much as I do.
You shouldn't change a thing, this is a perfect shot, and you did a great job editing it. You have a very unique style that you shouldn't lose. =)

@Francesca: Thanks for these very kind words, Francesca. And thanks also for adding me to your blogwatch...
Nothing special here...
Love the composition and the color of the lights in the night. I'm not much of a 'processor'..but whatever it is you've done seems to have worked. Nice image.

@Marcie: Thank you very much, Marcie. I also try not to overdo postprocessing most of the time. But if you have a look at the original shot linked above you will see that some work was needed here.
This has a strong graphic element to it. Very well done. You have a good touch with HDR. (I basically hated it until I saw your shots!)

@Klaus: Vielen Dank, Klaus! Auch wenn ich meist nicht die großen Experimente mache kann ich bei einigen Bildern einfach nicht widerstehen...
Hello Mirko, Nice shot here, the partial desaturation works well here.
