Cropped racer: Thanks Hugo!

If you have the impression of 'Huh? I know this picture!' you are absolutely right. I posted this shot before on 21 July. In the comment section Hugo made the suggestion to crop the picture more at the top... What shall I say? I gave it a try and think Hugo is right. Thanks for your useful help, Hugo!

This is a good crop, and the placement of the biker within the frame is much more interesting and stronger now.

Yes! I went back to compare the two and this is a much stronger image. The first one was fine in terms of a pleasing composition - but this brings us more into the 'feel' of the rider - and that has to be the point it seems to me. Congrats to you and to Hugo Poon.

I agree, too. This has more drama and tension in it. Love the sharp detail and almost three dimensional look of the cyclist. It's the rounded forms of the helmet and the arms that are responsible for this, I believe. A winning shot!
